Palladiom drapery is Lutron’s newest automated window treatment: a wall-mounted, exposed-rod drapery track that conceals the belt, drive, and structural components inside a slim unibody aluminum profile. Instead of hiding a motorized track behind a valance or ceiling pocket, Palladiom drapery is designed to be seen. The visible profile is a balanced oval about 1.25 inches tall that reads as architectural hardware, not equipment.
It’s a response to a real trend: soft window treatments are back in luxury interiors, adding texture and dimension that hard treatments can’t. According to Lutron’s 2026 Luxury Residential Trend Report, Living with Light, 56% of designers now incorporate automated window treatments into their projects.
What finishes and design options are available?
Five hand-crafted metal finishes: Pure White, Black Anodized, Clear Anodized, Bronze Anodized, and Satin Nickel. Bronze Anodized is new, developed specifically for this system; it echoes the feel of the solid-brass Aged Bronze on Palladiom roller brackets in a lighter aluminum form suited to long tracks. Three end treatments finish the rod: End Bracket, End Cap, or Finial. A fourth option arrives in Fall 2026, a finial co-developed with Swarovski that integrates a custom-cut crystal into the machined aluminum form, coordinated to each finish.
The system supports both pinch pleat and ripple fold styles, in left-draw, right-draw, center-draw, and tandem configurations. Ripple fold panels are offered in 80%, 100%, and 120% fullness; pinch pleat in 2x, 2.5x, and 3x. Brackets, splice rings, and visible carriers are finish-coordinated so the whole assembly reads as one piece. How large a window can Palladiom drapery cover?
A single track runs from 2 to 12 feet with no splice, and up to 30 feet with splices, which covers the floor-to-ceiling glass walls typical of Miami waterfront homes and condos. Per Lutron’s specification submittal, the higher-capacity drive (QSSC-EDU-D175-L) moves drapery panels up to 125 pounds, so heavy linen and interlined panels across a wide opening are well within reach. The master carrier travels at 5 inches per second with precise, programmable stop points, so panels start, glide, and stop exactly where they should, silently and in unison across a whole room.
A few planning notes. Palladiom drapery is wall-mount only and straight tracks only; ceiling-mounted, recessed, or curved applications call for a Sivoia QS drapery track instead. Every bracket must anchor into blocking or suitable structure, with brackets no more than 48 inches apart, so continuous blocking across the span is the smart pre-drywall move. Power is wired Class 2, 35V DC at the drive end of the track, tucked just inside the end bracket where the drapery return conceals it.
